WHY HANDSTANDS?

At Inverted Equilibrium, everyone is welcome. It’s all about the journey — so you only have to live up to your own potential.

Handstand training is excellent for strength, flexibility, mobility and posture. If you want to be strong and flexible, and are bored of the gym scene, this could be perfect for you. Handstand training helps maintain healthy shoulders, a strong core and muscular endurance. It is also great for building self confidence and concentration, and can be a very meditative form of work.

A handstand does not have to be the goal; it can just be part of the journey.

Inverted Equilibrium began in Marsha Kennington’s circus tent on the shore of Lake Ontario in 2010. Chris Taylor was teaching handstands to two circus colleagues. When word got out, more people joined. As time passed there was more demand and so I found a great studio in Brockton Village. Inverted Equilibrium was born. I am proud of all my amazing dedicated students.

It’s not just a physical workout. My mind has been pushed into understanding my body in nuanced and new ways that have fixed old pathways and opened up new possibilities. I didn’t love handstands when I started but I definitely do now. Chris is an excellent handstand instructor. You are in safe hand(stands) with him.
